Groundwater Level Measurement and Logging

Solinst 101 Water Level Meter

Applications

Measurement of groundwater depth in wells, boreholes and standpipes.

get a quick quoteThe 101 Water Level Meter consists of a choice of a P2 or P6 probe design attached to a polyethylene tape at one end, and at the other end a reel containing the electronic components of the instrument. Two stainless steel conducting cables run down the length of the tape from the reel to the probe. When the probe comes in contact with water, the circuit is completed which in turn activates a buzzer and light on the reel. The tape has clear markings every millimetre and is labeled every centimetre and metre. A controller on the reel allows for a change of sensitivity to ensure a clear signal in high and low conductivity conditions.

Solinst 102 Water Level Meter

Applications

Measurement of groundwater levels in narrow openings such as piezometers.

get a quick quoteThe Water Level Meter consists of a choice of P1 or P2 probe design attached to a heavy-duty jacket and stainless steel coaxial cable. When the probe comes in contact with water, the circuit is completed which in turn activates a buzzer and light on the reel. The 102 Water Level Meter is much narrower than the 101 Water Level Meter making it specific for small diameter tubes and piezometers or for cases where flexible cable is required to slide past and in-well pump. A controller on the reel allows for a change of sensitivity to ensure a clear signal in high and low conductivity conditions.

Solinst 103 Tagline

Applications

Designed for use during monitoring-well installation or as a hanger cable for suspending pumps.

get a quick quoteThe Tag Line is a polyethylene coated 1.6 mm diameter stainless steel cable on a reel marked every metre or ½ metre, with a heavy stainless steel weight attached at the end. It provides a simple method to measure the depth to the bottom of a well, or the depth to the top of a backfill sand or bentonite layer during the completion of a well. With a 122 kg minimum tensile strength, it can also be used as a multi-purpose marked support cable. The cable is mounted on a free-standing reel with a carry handle, brake and a holder for the weight.

Solinst 107 TLC Meter

Applications

Measurement and profiling of conductivity and temperature in wells and open water

get a quick quoteThe TLC (Temperature/Level/Conductivity) Meter consists of a probe attached to a polyethylene tape at one end, and at the other end a reel containing the electronic components of the instrument. Two stainless steel conducting cables run down the length of the tape from the reel to the probe. When the probe comes in contact with water, a speaker sounds as the water completes the electric circuit. An LCD displays readings for conductivity and temperature and rotates independently of the reel for ease of use.

Solinst 122 Interface Meter

Applications

Determination of LNAPL and DNAPL layers

get a quick quoteThe Interface Meter consists of a probe attached to a polyethylene tape at one end, and at the other end a reel containing the electronic components of the instrument. Two stainless steel conducting cables run down the length of the tape from the reel to the probe. The probe incorporates an infra-red beam and a detector receiving the light signal. When the probe is submerged in any liquid the light is refracted away from the detector causing the system to go into alarm mode. If the layer is NAPL (conductivity less than 50 μS/cm) the alarm will sound with a steady tone and light. When the probe hits water (conductivity greater than 50 μS/cm) the infra-red alarm circuit is overridden and the conductivity alarm is activated, noticeable by a rapid intermittent tone and flash of light.

Solinst 3001 Levelogger Gold

Applications

Long-term water level monitoring in wells, surface water bodies and seawater environments

Stream gauging, lake levels and reservoirs.

Tank level monitoring.

get a quick quoteThe Levelogger has a 22 mm x 154 mm watertight stainless steel housing with a zirconium nitride coating for corrosion resistance. Incorporating a pressure transducer and temperature sensor and a 10 year battery life, the Levelogger is designed for measuring and logging water levels in a vast range of different scenarios, with real time data viewing and export capability. It can be linked to radio or mobile networks. With a sealed Faraday Cage design, maintenance is simplified and protection is provided against electrical spikes caused by lightning. The Levelogger is an absolute pressure transducer (water pressure + atmospheric pressure) and requires a Barologger for accurate barometric compensation.

Solinst 3001 Barologger

get a quick quoteThe Barologger is used to perform barometric compensation for the data obtained by a Levelogger by logging the atmospheric pressure, giving the absolute pressure (water pressure + atmospheric pressure) from which the level can be calculated. By using a Barologger with a Levelogger, there is no time lag in the compensation calculation which can be introduced by moisture build up, kinking or damage to vented cables. The Barologger uses algorithms based on air rather than water, giving superior accuracy. The Data Compensation Wizard in the Levelogger software greatly simplifies the barometric adjustment of the water level measurements by using the synchronized data from one on-site 3001 Barologger with all of the Leveloggers. The overall results give more reliable, highly accurate level data than that obtained when using high maintenance and expensive vented cable.
